For my husband's 86th birthday he requested a Scottish dinner, the first thought that I had was Ackroyd's Scottish meat pies we have been eating them for over 45 years they are always good, but this time they were pure perfection. Presentation is everything for me when I opened the box the meat pies were beautifully shaped, the weight of the filling was exceptional, by following the baking instructions the pies were golden, the crust was flaky and the filling was just as beautiful as any pie that we've eaten in Scotland. My menu was meat pies, Mince & Tatties with peas, but everyone agreed the meat pies were absolutely beautiful.
Spot on PERFECT! I am 100% Scot, 1st generation American. My mother made these al the time for us...it was a main staple in our home. Now it is truly a treat to enjoy these pies. Thank you for keeping it authentic!
I’ve been eating Ackroyd’s meat pies since I was a wee lass! My Grandfather moved from Glasgow, Scotland to Dearborn about 1928 and Ackroyd’s has been a tradition ever since.
