Meat Pies and Butteries as I remember

The meat pies have been a staple in our family since I was 5 and my grandmother (pure Scot) would head on down to Redford and get a dozen. The pies are the same, albeit perhaps a bit smaller (or I got bigger). Taste every bit as good as I remember. Although they're far more expensive than they were. The butteries were a very pleasant surprise and very delicious.

Thanks for the kind words! The meat pies have gotten bigger by weight and have remained the same size in the shell. Yes, they are more expensive. The cost of operating has grown immensely over the past decade. Also, keep in mind that you placed your order at around 9AM on a Wednesday and it was delivered on Thursday afternoon. For small business shipping, that's pretty impressive and is indicative of the customer service we strive for whenever we can.

The meat pies, cinnamon sugar butteries, and the sausage rolls are absolutely delicious! I grew up eating these, along with many other of Ackroyd’s products! I now have my husband loving them as well! I will continue to order their products!

Great Comfort Food

Love these pies but wish they were weren't so tough at the edges to cut through. Is this because they are cooked from frozen? Would they be better thawed in the fridge before cooking?

Our meat pies have crunchy shell by design, but we understand you may not like that! You can definitely thaw them prior to cooking and that may help. You can also put a shallow pan of water in the oven with them and that will create steam which can soften the exterior. Finally, do not cook in a toaster oven or air fryer as both of those methods tend to give a crunchier shell.

Fantastic meat pies and short bread

The meat pies were excellent. They tasted like the pies that were made by the bakeries in Scotland. The meat filling was moist and flavorful. The crust was flakey. The shortbread was excellent as well.

I was very impressed with the friendly, patient, customer service. We will definitely be placing additional orders in the near future.
