My grand mother, my parents and my siblings have been buying meat pies, pork pies, fern cakes (Bakewell tarts) and other goodies for at least 60 years when we would visit several times a year couldn’t resist the meat pies and fern cakes mostly. Both 5 mile and beach daily and for the short time they had a location in Birmingham. Best memories unfortunately the prices have skyrocketed out of my range like most everything else and at the same time I am very happy that they are finally making not just an existence but thriving. While I will continue to purchase once or twice a year because I am hooked on the quality and the nostalgia. I really do miss walking into the bakery and smelling and seeing all the goodies.
The order was a gift for my brother and as he told me, his "mouth was watering as he put it away, looking forward to enjoying every bite."

Ackroyd's Pork Pies are delicious and easy to prepare, just pop into oven and bake as directed. I add a salad, veggie and pork gravy that has dinner on the table in no time and tastes wonderful.
