Aside from plain, golden raisin scones are the most traditional version we make. The juicy sultanas provide the right amount of sunshiney sweetness that you'd expect. These scones are wonderful with a pat of butter, but are also excellent with strawberry jam or lemon curd.
Each scone weighs approximately 50g.

When I lived in England I used to get Sultana (golden raisin) scones at the local bakery as often as I could. When I came back to the US, I couldn’t find them anywhere and what US bakeries consider scones are not traditional. I tried ordering scones directly from England through online British food suppliers, but the travel distance made them lackluster. Now I find Ackroyd’s Bakery, and these are the real deal, fresh as any UK bakery, and exactly the same as in the UK. I’m sure their plain scones are equally delicious but the Sultana (golden raisin) scones have always been my preference.
