Ackroyd's Butter Tarts (6 pack)
One of our most beloved items isn't Scottish at all, Butter Tarts originated in the early 20th century in Ontario. These tarts are made with two types of raisins, butter, brown sugar, and eggs. The sweet buttery filling is then placed into a 3 inch flaky tart shell (made with lard - vegetarians take note). Butter Tarts are great with a cup of tea or coffee. They're also fantastic warmed up and topped with vanilla ice cream.

This order was a gift for my brother and he told me that as he was putting it away his mouth was watering just thinking about the order.

Just WOW! These tarts are unbelievably good in taste and texture and aroma . The perfect
Tart. I thought the chocolate orange shortbread was your best bite but this tart gets the nod.
My next order will contain multiples of both!
Thanks, Cynthia! We appreciate all of your kind words!
I’d love it if fern cakes came back!
Ackroyd’s butter tarts are always delicious. Unfortunately, this order, despite your usual meticulous packaging, arrived in less than wonderful condition. The filling had somehow melted, making a mess and even distorting the shape of the pastry. They still taste good, of course, but the packing and shipping charge was in this case somewhat excessive.
Hi Arnie: this is confusing. You received these almost 3 weeks ago. We've shipped close 100 packages of Butter Tarts since then and this is the first we have heard this issue. Have you kept them in the freezer? Lastly, the $19.99 shipping flat rate does not even cover our cost, so calling it excessive simply isn't fair if you consider the actual cost of shipping and everything that goes into it.
