While we have always been fans of farmers markets, we have not attempted to bring local produce into our baking. Now that we have a more efficient baking facility, we can spread our culinary wings a bit more.
Living in Michigan is a blessing. Did you know that Michigan is the second most agriculturally diverse state behind only California? Michigan leads the United States in production of tart cherries, asparagus, cucumbers, squash, and more. We happen to love asparagus, so when we noticed some gorgeous looking asparagus stalks at the farmers market this past weekend, we had an idea - Cheese and Onion Pies with Asparagus!
We chop the asapargus then roast it. After the asparagus is beautifully roasted, we add it to our cheese and onion pie mix, which contains egg, potato, cheddar cheese, onion, seasoning, and more. This pie will give your next brunch a huge upgrade.
